Spring has come to Whitestone. We are blessed to have both beautiful flower beds, and people who maintain them. I found Freda Holmes one morning recently caring for the spring blooms.
Freda, a true flower lover, agreed with me that these are beautiful, but also pointed out how difficult it is to pull that grass out so the full beauty can be appreciated.
Freda went to work on the "Bible Bed." She tells me that this bed includes Rose of Sharon, Lily of the Valley, Jacob's Ladder, Burning Bush, and Good Shepherd Day Lily.
Behind her, filling the air with fragrance, is a giant lilac bush. She thought it had been there when Fred's grandparents were alive.
A big thank you to Freda and all those who help make the church a beautiful and inviting place.
Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow;
they neither toil or spin, yet I tell you
even Solomon in all his glory
was not clothed like one of these.
